
Pip Harry
Pip Harry is an author and former celebrity journalist, who once interviewed Beyonce in a minivan, sat next to Alf from Home & Away at the Logies, interviewed Dame Edna Everage on the red carpet, and chatted to Elmo from Sesame Street on the phone. Nowadays, Pip loves to write about kindness, friendship and courage for kids and teens. Her best known novels are CBCA-award-winning The Little Wave and August & Jones, as well as picture books and young adult novels. She lives on Sydney’s northern beaches with her family and energetic rescue kelpie. Her favourite thing to do is swim too far out from shore in the wild ocean.

From jumping waves to inside dogs, spare kisses and swimming pigs – join CBCA-award-winning author Pip Harry as she delves into the world of her much-loved picture books, and reveals how the gorgeous illustrations and words form an unforgettable story.
Pip will read from one of her latest picture books, Spare Kisses – a warm-hearted celebration of the endless supply of love (and treats!) that grandmothers have for their grandchildren – or The Fast Lane – a funny look at a competitive swimming pig called Daisy! Students will be entranced by Pip’s engaging presenting style and interactive presentation, and may even have time to do their own drawing. Drift and The Magical World of Beekeeping!
Teens will be captivated by the real-life backstory behind CBCA-award-winning author Pip Harry’s acclaimed verse novel Drift, which was inspired by a swarm of 20,000 bees that settled in the walls of her Sydney house. This timely novel for students aged 12+ has themes of bees, beekeeping, social media, nature, anxiety, chronic pain, friendship and family.
